THE EMISSARY POSITIONS

Positions available: 1
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week, 10+ hours the weeks leading up to Feb 18.
Reports to: Editor-in-Chief, The Emissary
The Senior Copy Editor will review and edit all written work that will be produced for The Emissary to ensure that everything published is at the highest academic quality. From reports on committees to socials to interviews, the Senior Copy Editor should be well versed in all topics. Ideal candidates are collaborative, interested in journalism or creative writing, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The Emissary Senior Copy Editor is expected to:
Publish articles reporting on NAMUN 2027 events and proceedings
Participate in and observe training sessions, staff and delegate events and other NAMUN-related happenings throughout the year
Help update The Emissary and different social media platforms throughout the year
Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Editor in Chief (from October to February)
Be present for the entirety of the conference
Prior experience with journalism is recommended.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week
Reports to: Senior Graphic Designer, C&D Directors, C&D Coordinator, Editor-in-Chief, The Emissary
Graphic Designers will aid in the creation and implementation of The Emissary magazine, as well as graphic content for NAMUN 2027 as a whole. Through developing layouts, creating graphics and implementing innovative ideas, Graphic Designers will be able to bring to life a creative vision for The Emissary and for the conference itself. Ideal candidates are creative, able to work in a fast-paced environment and interested in developing new skills.
Graphic Designers are expected to:
Develop graphic content for The Emissary, such as but not limited to logos and social media posts
Create pages for The Emissary magazine and blog, as well as the NAMUN website
Participate in and observe training sessions, staff and delegate events and other NAMUN-related happenings throughout the year
Attend regular monthly meetings with the Senior Graphic Designer
Be present for the entirety of the conference
Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva Pro is recommended.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
Reports to: C&D Directors, Editor-in-Chief, The Emissary, Senior Copy Editor
From reporting on committees and socials to holding interviews with delegates and staff members, NAMUN’s journalists keep the public engaged and updated with the latest NAMUN 2027 news.
Journalists will:
Publish articles reporting on NAMUN 2026 events and proceedings
Do research on a topic of your choice relating to international politics.
Sit in and report on Model UN committee discussions throughout the conference.
Participate in and observe training sessions, staff and delegate events, and other NAMUN-related happenings throughout the year
Be present for the entirety of the conference

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
Reports to: C&D Directors, Editor-in-Chief, The Emissary, Senior Graphic Designer

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
Reports to: C&D Directors, C&D Coordinator
NAMUN’s photographers and videographers are the eyes of the conference, tirelessly documenting committee proceedings, social events, and moments throughout the conference. They provide delegates with the opportunities to relive their experiences and memories at NAMUN 2027 during and after the conference. Ideal candidates should be organized, responsible, and interested in developing their event photography and videography skills in a fast-paced environment.
Photographers and Videographers are expected to:
Produce and edit video and photo content to strengthen the NAMUN brand leading up to the conference (e.g. plan, film and edit NAMUN promotional content)
Document training sessions, staff events and other NAMUN-related happenings throughout the year
Edit the photographs or videos produced during the conference
Be present for the entirety of the conference
Previous photography or videography experience is recommended but not required. Please specify if you have a preference for photography or videography.
